Another Card Inspired By Kathi

CTMH Cardstock Clover Meadow and Watermelon. Background paper is Pink Ribbon from Flair. I have had it for a couple of years. Stamp is from Stamping UP. Green ribbon from JoAnn's, double spiral is from Hobby Lobby. CTMH markers are Red velvet, watermelon and Ponderosa Pine. EK Success white pencil for under throat and wings.

Inspired

This card was inspired by Kathi and her "Gals" Stamps. I have had this stamped image for a year. I have no idea who made the stamp as I saw it at friends house and stamped it several times. Then I had no idea what to do with it until I saw Kathi's blog.

CTMH White cardstock, cranberry and black. Cuttlebug is divine swirl. CTMH markers are fawn, moonstruck, grey flannel, pansy purple, New England Ivy, Sunny Yellow, Crystal Blue. Pencils are Prisma Light Peach and EK Success Black. Red brads are from JoAnn's. Sentiment I think is from Hero Arts. I bought one of those round tubes with lots of small sayings and then put them in a different container. Circles are 1" and 11/4" inch punch. I distressed the edges with cranberry. And the sentiment is raised with 3m foam tape.

Back to Stamping

Today was a nice sunny day. I did a little raking. Still lots to go. Yesterday when I went to see my orhthopedic surgeon to see if surgery was needed on my right thumb. For now cortisone shots will do the trick plus a hand slint. Bought Jim a mailbox cover with a golf theme, he really liked that. I put that on the mailbox today. Thursday he goes to the surgeon to see how his thumb is healing. Blog surfing I have noticed that there are not a lot of guy cards out there. I made this one today.

Cardstock is CTMH Outdoor Denim. Background paper is CTMH Barnwood. Stamp is from Stamping UP in the little spring flyer. I used McGill's Tall Tag punch and the sentiment is from Northwoods Rubber Stamp. The dog bone is a paper clip from the office section of Wal-Mart. Colored pencils are from EK Success and I used black, dirt brown, tree bark and gold. I also chalked the edges of the white cardstock red.

HoHum

Since I can hardly stay awake I'm turning off the computer. Hopefully I can get the house picked up and some stamping done tomorrow. It is not supposed to be very nice weather wise and after 70 degree temps the last few days it is going to be miserable. I did walk in the woods today with a friend. Hopefully both Jim and I can sleep better tonight. Last night he was up several times to go potty and with his left arm and hand in a humongus wrap and splint I heard him every time he got up. Monday he pinched the end of his left thumb off in a woodsplitter. Tuesday we saw the orthopedic surgeon and Wednesday he had outpatient surgery. His thumb is off just above the first joint. Today when the nurse called to see how was doing he said when can I play golf?

No Stamping Required

After I slept through the Evening News, Wheel, Jeopardy and most of NCIS I went down in the basement and made this card. I had picked up these papers at Ben Franklin. They were on a scrapbook page. Cardstock is brown monochromatic, flowers and words are from Heidi Grace Double sided Paradise Point. The yellow strip in the middle is DCWV Solid Yellow Glitter. The bottom strip is green monocrhomatic paper. I cut the flowers out and popped them with a pop dot. The white spots are most likely reflection from the flash.

Oh My Goodness

So much has happened since I last posted. Last Saturday my left hamstring was really cramping so I took a muscle relaxant that night. The next day I was a zombie. By Monday I was back to my old self. I picked up the house and did some outside chores. In the evening I went to make some cards and nothing would come to mind. I tried to add up my CTMH order for May and couldn't even get that right. Went upstairs and watched Wheel and Jeopardy. DH and Sam went with a bunch of guys from church to cut up and split wood for a young fella that crushed his hand in the splitter on Saturday. I called a friend and we were having a good time chatting when Sam called on my cell phone that Grandpa had cut his finger and was in the ambulance along with Kyle (fella that got his hand crushed) who needed to go back to the hospital. My friend I was talking with drove me to the hospital. Dear DH had sliced the end of his left thumb off. After they got it all cleaned up they started talking surgery. I said if you are doing surgery we are going to Petoskey. We don't have much confidence in the orthopedic doctors in the Soo. They said okay. We headed down there today the surgeon looked at it and will do surgery tomorrow at 4:45pm. Don't know if he will stay overnight or not at this point. The surgeons in Petoskey are the ones that did my knee replacements last year.

My First Cuttlebug Card

My stuff arrived minus the Swiss Dots folder as they are all sold out. I tried a few places on the web and they are all sold out also. So instead I made this card for my granddaughter who likes frogs. The Cuttlebug folder is the Diamonds in the Rough. The white cardstock is from Wal-Mart. The green is Clover Meadow from CTMH. The frog stamp is from Hero Arts. The cattails are from Stamp Pad Co. I have had both of them for a few years so don't know if they still make them or not. The frog is stamped in Ponderosa Pine from CTMH. I stamped the cattails also in Ponderosa Pine and then used the Pepperwood marker from CTMH to color the cattail heads. The ribbon is from JoAnn's, the dragonfly is from JoAnn's button department and the ribbon slide is a brad from Hobby Lobby. I used a 2 1/2 inch scalloped circle punch and a 2 inch circle punch. They are pop dotted.
Tomorrow we are off to Petoskey 75 miles south. I have a dermatologist apppointment, then it is to Home Depot to shop for a new fridge. Tried to get a new dishwasher also but that was a no go. JoAnn's and Ben Franklin are also on the list. Sorry the stamped image doesn't show up any better. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hurry Up UPS

I am impatiently waiting for UPS to bring me my Cuttlebug folders. In the meantime I am doing the church bulletin. Then it will be playtime.

Here is the Moose card I made yesterday. Slowly but surely I am getting the hang of this blogging thing. Later.

Greetings from Michigan

Hi,

I am new to this blogging thing although I have used MySpace and Facebook to communitcate with my grandkids. We live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, 20 miles south of Sault Ste. Marie. There is still snow on the ground but not all over and the crocus are up and blooming. Can hardly wait to start digging in the dirt. I made one card today but didn't have much inspiration. I used a new moose stamp that I had gotten from Biblical Impressions a branch of Eureka Stamps. I used barn red for the card and scraps for the rest.
