We Are Home

We are home after being gone two weeks to see our granddaughter graduate from high school in southern Colorado. In the fall she will be a freshman at the junior college in her town. For the summer she is working at Dominos Pizza.

My new stuff from CTMH heart will be here Tuesday and I can hardly wait to start playing. I will probably play some tomorrow while I am in the basement doing the mountain of laundry that we brought back.

Omaha Nebraska

We are in Omaha Nebraska on our way home. There is a tornado watch out until 2am Friday. And on Friday there will be storms no matter which way we want to go home.

North Platte Nebraska

The picture is the old blacksmithshop at Ft. Kearney. We stopped there for a mid afternoon rest stop. Tomorrow we will finally get to Trinidad Colorado.

The First Leg Is Done

We are in Ft. Wayne In. On the way down I got to stop at Pages in Time in Lansing. Mostly I just wanted to walk around and it was too cold to walk outside. Since I was walking fast didn't find anything until I was ready to walk out then I saw some Lego brads so I asked if they had Lego paper and they did. It is tradition for our grandson to get Lego's for his birthday -even though he will be 22 in August. I need to and rearrange my suit case. Later

We Are Off

We are leavingin a little while for Trinidad Colorado. Our first stop will be Ft. Wayne IN. Jim's thumb is doing really well. And he is able to do more and more. He hopes to be golfing when we get back May 31st. Made this card late last night. A friend of mine, Mother is dying of cancer and only has a few days left. I will address the card and take it with us. We will have our trusty laptop so we can keep up with the world.

I used green textured card stock. A script stamp on the tan and embossed the words in sympathy and friendship. The lace is from Joann's. The button was a natural color that I dyed with the pepperwood marker from CTMH.

The Stitches Are Out

Jim got his stitches out today. Has to keep it wrapped through the weekend and then he has to start tapping his thumb on different textured surfaces. Don't need to go back unless he has trouble with his thumb. Later.

Just Playing Around

Saw these buttons in JoAnn's the other day and thought I would try them on a card. I was just playing around with the demin paper from Denim Days. The red print is a scrap I had. I didn't have a pattern for the card I just kept tweaking as I went along.
I made a lightbox the other day out of a shoe box and it was too small. Now I have a bigger box and will try again. I'd like to be able to take the pictures without a shadow.
But tomorrow is computer room cleaning time and getting the checkbooks balanced. So I don't know how much time I'll have for card making.
Jim is doing good with his thumb. I changed the dressing tonight and everything looks good. The stitches are driving him crazy but he will get them out on Thursday and hopefully be able to get an even smaller dressing for it. Although it is pretty hard to bandage the end of your thumb.
