Saturday

My card used papers from It's a Guy Thing plus Colonial White. The stamps are from CTMH and Stamping Up.

Today Jim and I did part of a 75 mile charity walk. The walk is called Gracie's Heart after a 2 month old baby girl who died of a heart condition. Her parents decided to do this walk from Sault Ste. Marie MI to Cheboygan MI. Walkers got donations from friends and family. We walked 4.4 miles from our town to the next. I usually walk 3 miles every other day but this walk about did me in. The first three miles were a piece of cake but then we got out of the trees and the sun was blazing down on us. Some of the group are walking the whole thing. Each day is a 25 mile leg.

It will be quiet at our house over the weekend. Sam has gone to help a friend move into the dorm and Sunday afternoon his girlfriend is moving into her campus apartment so he will be helping her.

Next week will be busy. Wednesday we are going to an arthritis class to see what that is all about and in the afternoon I have a PT appointment and that evening we have a going away party. Jim will golf on Thursday if he doesn't have any pain. Wed. he missed the bottom basement step. Neither one of us thought too much about it but at bedtime he said if was still sore in the morning he wasn't going golfing. I made him go the walk in clinic after breakfast and the long and short of it is that he separated the cartilage from his ribs. He had a reaction to the Tylenol with codeine so is just taking the Motrin prescribed for him.

The Last Days of Summer

I spent a good share of the day stamping and I have most of the mess cleaned up. I did several tries before I got the look of this card the way I wanted it. The stamp is by Northwoods. Cardstock is CTMH Outdoor Denim, Orange and Black. The white is from Wal-Mart and the light blue was a piece of scrap that I had. I punched a 5/8 inch circle and cut a slit in the tree line with my xacto knife. The Prisma Colored Pencils I used are Indigo Blue, Perma Violet, Orange and Canary Yellow. I don't know why the card looks like it is leaning forward. Perhaps it is the angle that I took the photo. The card is Outdoor Denim and the white is backed with black. And in the photo they both look the same.

While down in the basement stamping I did manage to do a load of laundry. In the early evening we dropped hubby's car off at Chevy dealer--it overheated the other day.

I Thought Today Would Be A Stamping Day

Thought maybe I could get a few cards stamped but my day didn't turn out that way. Jim and I walked almost 4 miles this morning. We are going to be in a charity walk on Saturday. The entire walk is 75 miles but we are doing 4.4 miles, from our town to the next. When we got home I found out that corn was ready from our local farmer. A friend of mine lives about a block from the farmer and her Mother from Texas is up so thought I would stop to see her. When I mentioned to Jim that I would stop and see Juli and her mother he replied "I'll come with you and maybe we can play cards." By the time we finished it was supper time and we got invited for supper. We got home at 7:45 and just finished getting the corn done. Jim gets the job of getting the kernals off the cob and I boil and bag. Now I am pooped so think I will go to bed and read for awhile.

One For Him...One For Her

Here are a couple of cards that I made today. They are both ideas from the new Stamping Up catalog. The cardstock is from CTMH and is garden green, buttercup, cocoa and bamboo. The stamp is Stamping Up's Watercolor Coneflower. Ribbon is from Joann's. Button and thread are buttercup from CTMH. I stamped the coneflower in cocoa.

If you are like me there are never enough masculine cards. CTMH cardstock is Barn Red, Indian Cornblue, Bamboo, and Pepperwood. The stamp is Winds of Grace from Stamping UP. Natural hemp is from CTMH.

Thursday I had my final checkup with my orthopedic surgeon on my knee replacements. Everything is good. I have been doing one thing that is not good though. When I get done walking my three miles I stretch by putting my foot to my butt. That is not good for the new knees. September 3 I start therapy because my right glute muscle keeps cramping up. And I am considering surgery on my right thumb but that means I need to pick three months when I can do without full use of my hand. Later.
