A Stamping I Will Go

Spring frog Tomorrow I am going to an all day community stamp get together.  We each bring our own cards to work on.  While I was getting my stuff ready I made this card.  Sentiment is Penny Black, frog is Inkadinkado.  CS is Citrus Leaf from CTMH.  White flower is from the Pretties Kit that Stampin' Up has.  Brad is from Wal-Mart.  Orange flower is from JoAnn's and I cut it in half.  Tomorrow the Stampin Up consultant will have a free card that we can make and the same for CTMH.

We got our winter storm with 6 inches of snow and blowing drifting.  Every school in the UP was closed and halfway down the lower peninsula they were closed.  To look outside it was beautiful, bright blue sky but it was colder than the dickens and tonight it is supposed to get 20 below.  Glad I went snowshoeing on Thursday.

I'm Back Stamping!

horse & buggy

This is the first card I made since I got my cast off last Wednesday.  The stamp set is The Beauty of Christmas (retired) from CTMH.  CS is Ponderosa Pine & White.  Ink colors are Ponderosa Pine, Pepperwood and Pansy Purple. Brads in the corner are Mini Brads from CTMH.

I have been cleared by my doctor to do anything I feel comfortable doing.  Yesterday I went snowshoeing.  Driving is interesting.  The first time I went to drive, I couldn't fasten or unfasten my seatbelt with my right hand and I couldn't turn the ignition key with my right hand.  Yesterday when I went to meet my friend for snowshoeing I could do everything but turn the ignition key on.  I was pretty happy when I found out that I don't need therapy.  I have a soft brace to wear when I am doing things, like stamping or snowshoeing.

Updated For 2009

snowman Today was supposed to be our card club day but because the back roads were extremely icy due to rain on top of hard packed snow we canceled.  All the schools in our area were closed. Our theme was snowman or winter cards.  I wasn't real happy with the card I had made and thought I would let the girls see how they would tweak it.    When we canceled I remembered this card that I had had made a couple of years ago.  I had originally colored it with pencils but today I went over it with Marvy Markers.  I added the sparkly star on the hat tassel.  I also colored the dog which I hadn't done before.  Then I used Stampin'Up's Two Way Glue pen and went along the bottom of the snowmen and sprinkled it with Diamond Glitter.  The CS is CTMH New England Ivy.  The red stripe is retired CTMH B&T I don't know what the red is.  The stamp is Inky Antics.

Next month we will do two cards.  The one we were making for today and then a masculine theme.  We have a lot of fun.  Everyone brings something for lunch and enough materials to make the card you bring.

The wind is starting to blow and that should help dry up some of the water from the rain and melting snow.  Today the temp was in the 40's we might have set a record.

Sunset and Sailboats

This card was inspired by a picture I took osailboatsf Clearwater Beach, Florida.  I thought I could do a one layer card with my left hand.  But even the little bit I held the card with my right hand put pressure on my joint.  Hopefully it was just the incision pulling.  The stamp is Northwoods, that I stamped in Black StazOn.  Then I chalked it.  There were no sailboats in my pic.

After the freezing cold wind of yesterday I wanted something nice and warm.  This weekend it is supposed to be in the 30's so time for a little snow cleaning.  Received a flower catalog from Spring Hill today and I am dreaming.  Later
